Upper Thomson MRT Station (TE8) is an underground station located along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) 2. It is built underneath Upper Thomson Road, at the junction with Bright Hill Drive, bringing rail connectivity to community amenities and residential developments in the area.
The station is in the vicinity of large numbers of shophouses, condominiums and private housing estates. Nearby landmarks include Thomson Plaza and several places of worship.
The official station name in Chinese is “汤申路上段” (literally translated to Upper Thomson Road), as released by LTA in June 2014.
The station is targeted for completion and opening in Year 2020.

Construction Trivia
Thomson-East Coast Line Contract T212 for the Construction Of Upper Thomson Station and Tunnels For Thomson Line was awarded to Sato Kogyo (S) Pte. Ltd. at a contract sum of S$374.0 million in November 2013. The company was previously involved in Downtown Line 3’s Mattar, Bencoolen and Bedok North stations.
