The new bus service was first announced by Member of Parliament (MP) Amy Khor on Facebook in April 2020 as “a direct bus service that will grant you (Hong Kah North residents) greater access to Jurong East Interchange from Bukit Batok West.”
During a political broadcast on 4 July 2020 during the lead-up to the 2020 Singapore General Election, Amy Khor announced that the new bus service will commence on 26 July 2020.
