Early Closure, Late Opening of Thomson-East Coast Line (July – November 2020)

Early Closures & Late Openings (ECLO) along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) between Woodlands North and Woodlands South will take place daily from Monday, 20 July 2020 to Sunday, 1 November 2020.

This is to facilitate additional engineering hours for the testing of systems and trains in preparation for the opening of TEL Stage 2.

Refer to the previous TEL Early Closure & Late Opening article for arrangements from April to 19 July 2020.

This new arrangement will supersede the previous TEL ECLO arrangement for Friday, 20 July 2020 to Sunday, 26 July 2020.

On 24 Aug 2020, SMRT & LTA announced the extended TEL ECLO arrangements, in which the end date was extended from 30 Aug 2020 to 1 Nov 2020.

As a result, TEL train services will be unavailable during the periods of closure.

Affected Hours & Dates

Early Closure

Train service will end at about 9:00pm daily during the Early Closure period.

• Daily from 20 July 2020 to 1 November 2020

Early Closure & Late Opening

In addition to the Early Closure, train services will start at about 6:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays from 25 July 202o to 1 November 2020.

• 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30 August 2020
• 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 & 27 September 2020
• 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 & 31 October 2020
• 1 November 2020

Alternate Bus Services

During Early Closure & Late Opening of TEL, commuters can take alternative bus services to the affected train stations.

• SMRT Bus Service 856
  – At Woodlands Temp Int for TE2NS9 Woodlands
  – At Bus Stop 47201 – W’lands Nth Stn, Woodlands North Coast Rd for TE1 Woodlands North
• SMRT Bus Services 901 & 901M
  – At Woodlands Temp Int for TE2NS9 Woodlands
  – At Bus Stop 46981 – W’lands Sth Stn Exit 2, Woodlands Ave 1 for TE3 Woodlands South from Woodlands
  – At Bus Stop 46989 – W’lands Sth Stn Exit 1, Woodlands Ave 1 for TE3 Woodlands South towards Woodlands
