Last week (8 – 11 September 2021), the Volvo B5LH bus was deployed on various bus services based in Sembawang, as well as Tower Transit Service 854.
These Sembawang-based bus services (167, 882, 882A, 883, 980) would be operated by Tower Transit from 3 Oct 2021, under the Sembawang-Yishun Bus Package.
The first revenue service trip operated by Tower Transit using the Volvo B5LH bus was on 8 Sep 2021. The bus (SG3016Z) was deployed only for a trip of Service 854 from Bedok to Yishun, departing Bedok at 1123hrs.
The Volvo B5LH bus was first launched on Monday, 10 December 2018 on Bus Service 272.
In March 2021, Tower Transit began operating Volvo B5LH buses after the transfer of one unit from SMRT Buses. More buses would be transferred over as part of the Sembawang-Yishun Bus Package.
