Not travelling out of Singapore through the Vaccinated Travel Lane? Fret not, as we have prepared a list of exploration activities by bus and train for the holiday season!

1. Do the MRT challenge!

How fast could you visit all train stations in Singapore? This person managed to do it under half a day!

Explore Singapore through the city’s sprawling rail system – over 130 different stations across 6 MRT Lines and 3 LRT Lines!

Don’t forget to visit the 6 new stations along the second stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line as well!

2. Off the Beaten Track by Bus

Exploring the ulu parts of Singapore is much easier than you think, thanks to the omnipresent bus network.

SBS Transit Volvo B9TL Wright (SG5474X) - Service 248

Bus 35 – Too lazy to cycle? This bus service brings you around the lengthy Tanah Merah Coast Road, along the perimeter of the airport and upcoming Terminal 5, and looping short of Changi Beach. (Take note – if you are intending to ride this bus one-way and have a meal at Changi Village, the nearest bus stop is 2 kilometres away after the looping point!)

Bus 248 – This bus service will help you get to most-southwestern bus stop of Singapore at Tuas South. But if you are intending to go to Lamp Post 1, take note it’s another 5 kilometres away. (Warning: Really far away!)

Bus 856 – Ride this bus to Woodlands Waterfront Park, where you can gaze at the skyline of Johor Bahru. We too are waiting for the border to reopen for travel! (Alternatives: Bus 882 – Sembawang Park, Bus 925 – Kranji Dam)

Bus 975 – Visit the North-western end of Singapore for the countryside vibes in Lim Chu Kang. While you are there, take a peek at the old Neo Tiew Estate as well!

Did we forget to mention – the latest bus models have USB charging ports for you to recharge your devices on the go as well?

3. Visit Singapore’s Bus Heritage Walkway

The first heritage corner within a bus interchange – Heritage Walkway @ Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub, opened earlier in July this year. Immerse yourself in the artifacts from buses and photographs collected over the years at the eastern-end of the interchange!

4. Visit the latest attraction on Sentosa

While the Sentosa Merlion was recently demolished, the latest SkyHelix Sentosa is set to open on December 15 – Singapore’s highest open-air paranomic ride.

Getting to Sentosa is as easy as 123, or by the Sentosa Express from VivoCity.

5. Ride the latest green buses

This year, Singapore’s roads saw 3 new bus models – all equipped with 3-doors:
