The Facility

To facilitate the construction of the Cross Island Line, a part of Hougang Central Bus Interchange was expected to be relocated in the near future. A tender for Temporary Bus Parking and Driver Facility (TPDF) (Reference No.: CR1088) by the Land Transport Authority was published on 31 January 2019 and was awarded to CCECC Singapore Pte Ltd. Construction began in end-2019 and was expected to be completed in end-2021.
In an article by 8world published in December 2020, it is expected that bus routes that are relocated to the TPDF for layovers will continue to serve the existing Hougang Central Bus Interchange for passenger boarding and alighting.
In mid-2021, the final name of the facility was determined to be “Hougang Bus Park” according to permanent signages mounted on the building facade.
Hougang Bus Park commenced parking of buses from Hougang Central Int on 25 April 2022.
Facilities
Hougang Bus Park features 25 bus parking lots. Staff facilities include offices, lounges and a canteen.
Vehicle access to Hougang Bus Park is via a left-in/left-out (LILO) intersection with Upper Serangoon Road, with secondary access from Hougang Avenue 4 (direction to be determined).
