A SBS Transit Volvo B9TL (CDGE) bus registered as SBS7376X is set to be preserved for the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore.
This is the first known Volvo B9TL (CDGE) bus to have been preserved in Singapore.
SBS7376X Background & Preservation
SBS7376X (Chassis Number YV3S4H9236A112229) was registered on 26 September 2006 as part of a larger order for 200 Volvo B9TL double-deck buses. These buses were Euro III-compliant, with bodywork assembled locally by ComfortDelgro Engineering, or CDGE (the engineering arm of SBS Transit’s parent company, ComfortDelgro). These are the first wheelchair-accessible public buses in Singapore, having been fitted with manual wheelchair ramps. The statutory lifespan of 17 years would be up by the end of September 2023.
In May 2023, the bus was reported to be on non-user lay-up status till the end of its statutory lifespan. Later in June 2023, it was spotted within the premises of Liannex Corporation undergoing modification works. Paper signs affixed to the bus’s windscreen indicated “TRANSFER TO ITE“, alongside the usual “Do Not Deploy” notices associated ith laid-up buses.
Modifications
Liannex Corporation undertook several modifications on the bus, which included the following:
- Repainting the bus back to the original SBS Transit Livery
- Installation of air-conditioning units at:
– Lower deck wheelchair bay
– Upper deck rear - Installation of air conditioning vents (modified from existing window space) at the lower deck rear & upper deck rear

- Volvo Olympian (SBS7227T) – Former student lounge at Temasek Junior College, scrapped in 2018
- Volvo B10TL (SBS9817C) – Used for special needs education at APSN Chaoyang School
- Volvo B10TL (SBS9844Z) – Bought by a private collector and shipped to Hong Kong
