Bus Service 992 is an upcoming trunk service operating from Bukit Batok Bus Interchange that will serve the HDB housing estates of Plantation Acres and Plantation Grange. These housing developments are situated within Tengah New Town. As of July 2023, the route is still in the planning phase, and the operator for this service has not been announced.
Plans for the introduction of Bus Service 992 were included in Travel Guides published by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in July 2023, which outlines transportation options for residents of the new HDB housing estates. Once operational, Service 992 will also serve amenities such as Le Quest Shopping Mall and Bukit Batok Polyclinic, enhancing accessibility for residents in the area.
Routing & Future Extension
Based on the LTA Travel Guides, Service 992 will initially ply Bukit Batok Road, Tengah Link and loop at Plantation Crescent. It will serve new bus stop 40381 along Plantation Crescent outside the Plantation Acres housing estate and perform a U-Turn back to Bukit Batok Bus Interchange, serving existing bus stop 43751 (Opp Blk 443D) along Bukit Batok Road.
In December 2023 (planned), the route of Service 992 would be extended to serve the Plantation Grange housing estate, via new bus stop 40409 along Tengah Boulevard.
As a designated Transit Priority Corridor, Tengah Link will be designated solely for buses from December 2023. In the interim period from August 2023, other motorists can also use Tengah Link via the left-in-left-out entrance and exit to Bukit Batok Road.
